Etude House Sweet Cherry Tint Review

Oh Etude House, thank you for trying to bring Spring to my still too cold world!

At least the snow has stopped! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧

I’m definitely blaming the cold weather on my purchase of these new brightly colored tints. ╮(─▽─)╭

As usual, everything is adorable! I almost didn’t want to throw away the boxes, but what in the world else would I do with them? Suggestions?

Anyway, the product comes in a tube like a lipstick would although instead of twisting for more, you press this odd button on the end.

I suggest you be veeeery careful when pumping this product for one super awesome reason – – –

From the packaging I expected more of a solid bar of tint instead of the extremely watery, gel like liquid that came out when I pressed the button. It keeps it’s shape, but can be really rather messy when your applying. It’s liquid and slips for about 15-20 until it settles on your lips, so be careful!

This tint is pretty in between on every scale. It’s not drying, but not moisturizing either. The finish isn’t quite matte, but doesn’t have that wet look of a gloss.

It’s very…fresh?

There is a slight cherry scent to both of the tints. I love it personally. (^_^)

Shade OR201

See what I mean? From the looks of it I thought it would feel and apply like a lip butter.

Because it’s very liquidy, it will settle in lines.

I only put one coat all over, so I don’t know if it will layer well. The color is a bit sheer, but I did blend it out with my finger. That seems to be the easiest way to make sure it doesn’t end up everywhere.

This tint is clearly orange in the tube by the way. It settled into an almost peachy color on my lips. Oh well! (-_- )ノ

I still think it’s pretty!

Shade PP501

You can see this one was a bit runny even before I used it.

I love this color! I’m always a sucker for bright colors, and this one is no exception!

This color does have a bit more of a watery finish and I will definitely be wearing it a lot in the Spring.

The glossiness fades after about 20 minutes and stains pretty nicely. It’s still really bright too.

You can buy these over at Jolse and there are five total shades available. All of them are really pretty and suitable for the warmer weather headed my way.

Finally! 😀

Innisfree Ampoule Intense Cushion Review

Oh my goodness, where has this cushion been all my life?!

Ok ok, so it just came out, but still! Innisfree just put out their winter foundation cushion and I bought it as soon as it was available on Jolse!

I regret this decision not at all! I’m so excited about this cushion, so let’s just jump into the review.

One of the things I absolutely love about Innisfree as a brand is that they are extremely consistent in their promise of eco friendly products. The box the cushion came in is made from soy ink and other natural, recyclable materials and is very simplistic in it’s design to reflect the natural stance of the company.

Nothing wrong with clean packaging ;).

Shade Options:

As per the standard, the shades available are #13, #21, and #23 and it’s important to remember that Innisfree shades run a hair lighter than some of the other brands. Where as #23 is usually suitable for MAC NC25, you need to be at a NC20 or in between the two shades for this to match.

  • Triple function: whitening + wrinkle improvement + UV blocking
  • Express moist skin for a long time by forming a layer of moisture on the skin
  • Blooming oil which reflects the light evenly expresses ampoule intense sparkle from the skin
  • Excellent adherence to the skin that gives you natural coverage

Ingredient wise, it has niacinamide and adenosine so the whitening and wrinkle care is definitely there. The brightening and moisture come from several natural ingredients such as: green tea extract, orange peel extract, and orchid extract.

Well, if I wasn’t sold already that’s enough for me! I love products with natural ingredients!(。♥‿♥。)

This is somewhere in between a  light and medium coverage foundation cushion. The main focus is definitely on the moisturizing power, I think.

The good thing is that it is definitely buildable and you can re-apply it throughout the day without it looking all crazy on you.

Lasting Power:

I don’t really use face powders because I like the finish on the foundation, but it still lasts a good 3-4 hours before I need to touch it up. It wasn’t really designed to be a long wear, so that doesn’t bother me. In fact, I like re-applying my base foundation/bb cream because that means my sun protection is always active.

For all the light coverage, I can say one very positive thing.

This foundation definitely cancels out redness ^_^.

More than concealing blemises or anything like that, my main skin/makeup concern is the redness. Granted, it’s not that terrible, but it annoys me. My face is so pink!

Ah~~~ There we go!

I don’t know if you can tell, but if you have dark circles like me, you will need to use a separate concealer.

And this is about 15 minutes later with the rest of my makeup and the foundation has settled. It doesn’t really oxidize, so that’s a definite bonus.

I really, honestly expected it to have a bit more of a dewy finish, but it ended up as an in between. So if you like a little dewy, this will be good for you ;).

The ampoule intense cushion is very comfortable!

You can’t even feel it on your face after it settles other than the fact that your face feels moist.

So basically, I kind of love it :D.

The only thing I would have liked more was for the formula to be a bit more dewy. I was looking forward to that bit with how much my skin dries out in Winter.

What do you think? Will you be adding this to your Winter regimen?

The Mini Haul Before I Break the Bank

Hallo Lovelies!

It’s Christmas here in my neck of the woods, at least as far as I’m concerned. I always feel that child-like rush of excitement every time I get a package in the mail! 😀

This lot came in before my huge package of skincare that is on the way. My skincare routine needs some serious updating for winter since my skin makes a complete 180 and decides to be dry all season long.

It’s a bit random, but this haul was one of those “Meh, I want to buy something….Oh look, a thing!” kind of shopping excursions.

I’m not going to talk about the snail cream too much because it’s going to be mentioned in a later post, but it’s the MYPU Halyu Water Volume Snail White Cream.

The Holika Holika Jewel Light Under Eye Maker in Pink was a seriously random purchase. I’ve never needed to create aegyo sal, so I’ve never really tried this out.

Case in point, these pictures:

Yes, that is a shoe from the Muses parade! If you know what that is, we need to be friends! ❤

Yeah, just look at those babies!

The funny thing is that I don’t even have any eye make up on, so that is their natural state!

Having said all that, I’m just a little curious how this product will look on my face.

As for the Lioele Glittering Jewel Eyeliner? I’m always up for trying new eyeliners. Hopefully this one will turn out to be pretty. I need a super black eyeliner that won’t fade an hour after application.

Isn’t the little wrapping sticker adorable on the Tony Moly Kiss Lover Lip Tint?

Also, the name of this product makes me giggle a little bit. ^_^

Basically, I was just looking for a good lip tint for fall and the Holic Plum shade sounded perfect.

And last, but definitely not least, is the Innisfree Ampoule Intense Cushion in 23!!!

20141031_100023Oh my goodness, I am the most excited about this and you can expect a review on this in the next couple of days for sure!

Innisfree has three cushion bb creams now and each one is designed for a particular season. The ampoule cushion is made to keep your face nice and moist during the harsh winter and has less SPF than the other cushions.

Have you had the chance to get your hands on this one yet? Let me know what you think if you have!

If you would like a review of any of the rest, just let me know down below! ^_^

Sample Wednesday: Lioele Triple Solution BB Cream

Hello lovely people~~~

How was your day? I hope it was filled with rainbows and unicorns! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧

For real though, I have no idea how to sleep anymore. Now that I have two full jobs, at a church no less, life has been pretty interesting! I am trying to jump back onto the bandwagon of blogging because this is my favorite outlet. ❤

SO! Let’s get started!

This baby has been sitting in my sample drawer for a good while.

Why? May I speak frankly?

The Lioele Triple Solution BB Cream only comes in one shade. This really irks my soul!

Why, Lioele? Why? I understand that Korean society is still largely homogeneous, but really? Is everyone the same shade?! Oy.

Anyway, I got bored with my bb cream this morning, so I decided to try this out!

  • Skin soothing from organic acid from yogurt
  • SPF30 PA++
  • Flawless coverage
  • Anti-wrinkle care
  • Whitening
  • Natural shine without oiliness

Key Ingredients:

Let me just say, I am very pleased with the active ingredients! Some cosmetic that claim to have whitening properties contain only titanium dioxide that just gives a temporary white cast to your skin.

There is one ingredient that can aggravate/cause acne!

This is literally the only ingredient I can complain about, but it is talc powder. Personally, this doesn’t bother my skin, but it could definitely for other people.

Otherwise, here’s the good stuff!

  • Arbutin – a leading ingredient for whitening
  • Adenosine – a very effective ingredient for wrinkle treatment and prevent

Ok, either allergies have kidnapped my powers scent, or this seems to be less…princess-like as far as strong scent goes. The other Lioele products I’ve tried have had very strong floral scents, but this one is mild and fades extremely quickly.

Oh, my skin….

But it’s getting better! I’ve recently discovered some awesome products that are working wonders on my skin!

Mostly, I’m just dealing with redness and a few blemishes.

First observation – AMAZING coverage! Oh my goodness, this is fantastic! For bb cream, the triple solution bb cream is definitely high coverage. I didn’t even have to use concealer under my eyes!

20141029_104419This is with the rest of my makeup and in the sunlight. The bb cream didn’t cake or oxidize.

I would like to mention that I am lucky that this shade actually works on my NC25 skin. This would be good for NC20-25 and has a subtle yellow undertone. I really like the finish too! It’s very fresh and keeps the promise of not looking oily.

Will I buy the full size?

Heck yes! o(≧o≦)o

But I think I will wait for spring because it doesn’t have enough moisture care that I desperately need during the winter.

Side note, I feel like my hair cut makes me look so much younger!

Then again, it might just be the fact that this bb cream makes my skin look awesome! 😉

What do you think? Would you try this bb cream?

My New Favorite Everyday Foundation

Evening, ladies and gents!

Ok, I know I called this a foundation, but I don’t really know what to call this product.

Basically, the Label Young Shocking ZZ Cream is a miracle in a bottle! ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ

Honestly, I’d never heard of the brand or the cream and when I saw it in the Memebox store, I was curious.

Here I am with my absolute favorite base makeup product for everyday ^_^!

What exactly is ZZ cream?

Good question!

Because I had no idea either until I looked it up. ╮(─▽─)╭

Here’s the breakdown: BB + CC + DD + Pore Primer.

BB  – Blemish Balm

CC – Color Correction

DD – Daily Defense (although I can’t for the life of me figure out what it defends against)

Pore Primer – Well, that part’s pretty self-explanatory.

As you probably know by now, I’m a sucker for cute packaging. This is pretty simple, nothing too eye catching.

I do like the tube even though the pumps are my favorite dispensers fore pretty much everything ;).

Just a note, this cream is really quite thick! I would suggest warming it a bit with your fingers before you try to apply it to your face.

It does spread easily enough.

Color Selection:

There are only two shade options available: #21 and #23. Since this looks like some sort of standard in Korea, I stuck with #23. I do tend to lose my tan in the winter, but I highly doubt I will get that light. (~ ̄▽ ̄)~

Now to the most important part! I’ve made you read enough I think.

As you can see, I still haven’t corrected my sleep patterns.

OH WELL! That’s what concealer is for.

Or just really good ZZ cream! Look at this coverage!

Here’s a closer look:

20141007_180214Awesome, right?!

It’s not quite full coverage, but a nice medium that can be built up easily. I do like that my freckles can be seen through. Full coverage on my face freaks me out!

The pore primer is really nice as well. I feel like it really smoothed my skin!

It did come out a touch lighter than I expected. However, it did adjust quickly.

I’m not sure how much I’ll love it as it get’s colder and I start fighting dry skin, but for now I’m absolutely in LOVE with this ZZ cream.

I know it’s not super well known, but have any of you tried this yet?

Holika Holika Wonder Drawing 24hr Auto Eyebrow Pencil Review

Hello everyone ^_^~~~

I’ve been holding onto this for a while, but I’ve been using this eyebrow pencil for about a month. This is the first time that I’ve used a color this dark and I don’t think I’ll be going back.

At least, not any lighter than a dark brown.

This is the second product that I’ve used from Holika Holika and I think I’m going to have to do some more exploring!

I got this in #1 Grey Black, but there are 3 other colors available.

Unlike their blusher, which you can see in the background, this packaging is super sleek and simple.

I don’t dislike it, but what can I say? I’m a Taurus.

Cute packaging is always welcome! 😀

The end has a spoolie!

That is one of the main reasons I decided to try this one instead of the plethora of other eyebrow pencils on the market.

This is how it looks when you first get it, but since the product is really soft, it ends up being more rounded.

Like I said, the gel is SUPER soft and you don’t have to press very hard to make it show up. In fact, I’ve found that I need to apply this with a feather light touch.

Lasting Power:

Oh my goodness! Holika Holika advertises this as an all day, no smudge product and let me tell you, they aren’t lying!

Even when the rest of my makeup fades, my eyebrows are always strong.

Though, that may not be a good thing ;).

Ok, see why I need to fill in my eyebrows?!

My eyebrows fell victim to my teenage years and I’m still trying to grow them out.

I really love this pencil! It is so easy to use for someone like me who is still a newbie when it comes to filling in my own eyebrows.

This is how I apply it. Since I have to fill in the super sparce inner area, I draw a few short upward strokes to make sure it doesn’t look too fake.

For the rest of my eyebrow I use short, light strokes just to fill in the empty areas. The only long line I apply is underneath to reinforce the shape.

What a difference eyebrows make! Even with simple makeup like this, I feel like having fuller eyebrows just balances my face.

Aaaand you can see all my freckles in this lighting!

But my eyebrows look good ;).

Have you tried this eyebrow pencil?

Sample Wednesday: Etude House Precious Mineral Cotton Fit BB Cream

So let’s pretend it’s Wednesday, ok? (ι´Д`)ノ

I’m actually kind of excited about this one! This is the first time I’ve really tried a bb cream that was actually suitable for oily/combination skin.

Le gasp!

I know, crazy right? Not even a dewy finish in sight.

Also, I don’t think I’ve ever tried a bb cream from Etude House. I don’t even know how that happened.

105_3794I received this sample in the shade W13 and I really wish that companies let you pick you free sample. You’ll see why.

But hey, it’s free so how much can I actually complain? 😉

This week has been kind of crazy for me and it’s definitely reflecting in my skin. You can see the redness and how dull my skin is right now. It is definitely time to switch over to my winter skincare routine.

And this is where you can see my slight disappointment with the shade. I am a NC 25, but the shade W13 is more suitable for an NC 20. It’s not terrible though.

Look at the coverage on this baby! You can barely see my freckles and the redness is 100% blocked out. And, as an added bonus, my skin looks brighter as well.

Although that might be because the shade is literally brighter?

The lighter shade doesn’t look so drastic now that it’s all over my face. And you can tell it did adjust just a tiny bit.

And look at the finish! It is matte, but not too dull looking. When I was applying the bb cream, it really felt like it was dissolving into a powder and that was really nice.

This would be absolutely perfect for Spring if you have problems with oil!

Oh, and as you can see from around my nose, if you have any dryness this bb cream WILL accentuate it. I wouldn’t recommend this for people with dry skin anyway.

I really love how nice this bb cream looks on my skin! I feel a bit like a doll. The staying power is really wonderful as well. Since it’s not quite Fall here, it was crazy muggy and my makeup didn’t fade at all!

Next Spring, I will definitely be buying this bb cream. In the shade W24 though. 。◕ ‿ ◕。

What do you think? Have any of you tried this bb cream yet?

Aritaum Full Cover Liquid Concealer Concealer #2 Natural Beige

Oh my goodness, it feels like forever since I’ve done a full review of a product! I’m not even sure how that happened.

In any case, I was looking for a good concealer that would actually cover my dark circles. Story of my life! I know there are a lot of you out there always searching for the perfect concealer too!

After about 15 minutes of searching various blogs and youtube channels, it became quite clear that it would be hard to ignore the Aritaum Full Cover line. The reviews are nothing short of wonderful and my favorite seller, Jolse, sells it for only $8.48! You can buy it here if you want to check it out for yourself.

The price was enough for me to decide to purchase the concealer. ^_^

Unlike some of the more vibrantly packaged products, the Aritaum concealer tube is pretty clean and chic. It’s just a simple 25ml plastic tube that is easy to keep in your makeup bag for touch ups – not like you will need those.

I know this is labelled as a liquid concealer, but it is definitely more of a cream. It is very thick!

The thing is, there is a cream concealer in this line. However, this one comes in a pot with both shades of the concealer. I think the difference between the two is probably in the application.

But, hey, I haven’t actually tried the concealer pot, so what can I say? 😉

As far as blendability goes, this product definitely works better with a bit of warming up on your hand. If you don’t it won’t be such a big deal though.  It does blend nicely with other bb creams and foundations, so that is nice.

Just to warn you, close ups of my eye are coming sans makeup! If you are like my first roommate in college who is slightly afraid of pictures of eyes…I’m sorry.

I looked to the side if that helps :D.

Hello, dark circles!

I would like to blame these on the internet. 😉

105_3755Somehow it doesn’t look so bad this close?

Ok, this is how I’ve found that I like to apply this concealer. You really don’t need a lot of this. Just a few little dot’s and blend outwards!

105_3758And tadaaa~~~

A weeks worth of sleep in a bottle! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧

Really though, how awesome is this concealer?! Even some of my poor freckles got stuck in the crossfire and are concealed

This is after the application of the rest of my makeup. I’m wearing both cc and bb cream on top of the Aritaum concealer. You can even put on the concealer after bb cream if you wanted. I just did it this way to demonstrate.

Needless to say, I’m kind of in love with this! 4.5/5!

The concealer has rose hip oil in it and I can really feel that my skin under my eyes is hydrated throughout the day.

The lasting power is pretty awesome as well. I never have to retouch my concealer! Not even in the freak humidity of the South.

Just a shade note, I am normally an NC 25. After this Summer, I’m slightly into NC 30 and I was afraid that this concealer would be too light. Luckily, it turned out to be perfect. I would say that if you might have trouble with this if you are darker than NC 30.

Ok, here is the reason for the 4.5!

I would like to start of by saying that I have had these 2 fine lines under my eyes since I was about 15. I need a good I cream!

Anyway, this concealer is almost holy grail worthy. But without applying a primer, it creases under the eye. I’ve tried apply less and the result is the same. Be warned!

Other than that, my love affair with this concealer will probably continue for a good long time!

What do you think? Have you tried this before?

Sample Wednesday: Lioele Blooming Shimmer Pearl Base

Happy Wednesday Dearies!

I’m back with another Sample Wednesday and lordie, does this product live up to it’s name.

I don’t know if I would ever have picked this one up on my own, but I do prefer a dewy finish, so I might have been drawn to it. Eventually. 😉

As usual, even Lioele’s sample packaging is adorable!

This product is very, very light! You can barely feel it even while your applying the liquid to your face!

See how sheer it is? I just barely spread it.

You can definitely see how pearly it is. Look at all these little golden shimmers!

The shimmers are almost too small to make out, so it really does end up looking pearly.

This base smells very princessy! I know that’s weird to say, but it’s got a kind of light, floral perfume kind of scent to it.

Luckily, it isn’t a very strong smell and it does fade very rapidly.

It shouldn’t bother people who are sensitive to scented products.

Look at my little makeup-less face! I had a bit of a random break out, but it’s going away rather quickly, so I’m not too torn up about it ;).

Also, look how pretty the sunlight is today!

Moving right along…

This is what the base looks by itself.

As far as base makeup goes, this doesn’t really do anything for your skin except add a little liveliness. I don’t know if it’s just me, but you can definitely see the gold tint.

It would be interesting to see what this looks like on cool toned skin. I wouldn’t advise it though.

This is the side of my face without the base and just a light coat of bb cream.

It’s not entirely flat, but I wouldn’t call this a dewy finish.

And then, tadaaaa~~~.

The base isn’t really visible, but you can see how it changed the finish of the bb cream.

5 Rating

This base does everything it promises be wonderful for people with dry or just dull skin! It’s subtle enough to keep your face from looking ridiculously oily, but still makes a noticeable difference.

Will I buy the full size, probably not. But it is a nice product :).

Sample Wednesday: Tony Moly Luminous Goddess Aura BB Cream

Happy Wednesday, Lovelies!

I have a bunch of base makeup samples and since I love the Tony Moly Luminous Pure Aura CC Cream, I decided it was time to try the BB Cream ;).

And I would just like to add that Tony Moly must reaaaally be into the long names!

105_3310 105_3311

  • Nano-sized pearl for soft radiance
  • Silky finish

Short and sweet! 🙂

  • Caffeine
  • Adenosine
  • Syn-ake
  • Olive oil
  • Argan oil

With the exception of olive oil and caffeine, I really love the ingredients in this product!

Adenosine, like Arbutin, is supposed to be very good for brightening your skin and syn-ake for anti-aging.

Oh my goodness, this has such a strong smell!!!

I didn’t notice it until I started applying the bb cream to my face, but it smells like some kind of floral perfume. Personally, it is way~~~ to strong for me and took too long to fade.

But, if you like scented products this will make you feel like a princess! (◕‿-)

This is definitely a more medium-full coverage product!

I was really surprised at how thick it was. It even covered my poor freckles!

I actually like my freckles though (╯_╰).

I’m not sure why I look so awkward in this picture. I’m chalking it up to being tired this morning ;).

105_3314Here’s a closer look without makeup on this side.

And the side with the bb cream. You can definitely see that all the redness is gone along with my ikkle freckles.

The coverage is great, right?

And the finish is really pretty. I would say it’s somewhere between matte and dewy. If you aren’t really into the dewy finishes, but like a fresh look this would be good for you.

When I was applying it inside, it looked a little light for my NC 25 skin, but it appeared to oxidize pretty nicely by the time I took the last pictures.

And then I stepped outside…..

Oh my goodness, it’s about a half to full shade too light for my skin! It wasn’t so noticeable inside, but I just looked slightly sickly in the sunlight.

I wish this came in more than one shade!

This made me sad! If it matched my skin better and didn’t have such a strong smell, I would absolutely LOVE this bb cream!

Maybe I will try it again in the Winter and see if it matches better then ^_^.

If you want to try it for yourself, you can get it here at Jolse for a really good price!
