Innisfree Apple Juicy Cleansing Oil Review

Good afternoon lovely people!

I honestly can’t believe that it took me so long to finally try this product! I received a sample of the Innisfree Apple Juicy Cleansing Oil about four months ago and fell in love with it. BUT because I am crazy indecisive, I waited about a month to actually purchase.

And then one month for shipping….

Longest month of my life! ヽ(o`皿′o)ノ

Just kidding ╮(─▽─)╭. Jolse is really good about shipping and I usually get my packages in about 2 weeks even with the standard shipping. However, the protests on the West coast docks delayed not only this package, but another one that I ordered around that time.

So now, I’ve been using this cleansing oil for about a month and I feel like I can give a thorough review.

The bottle is really pretty and reflects their natural brand theme. I really like the pump and how much product it puts out. I like to use 2 pumps, but if you want to use a half pump it’s really easy to control.

The best feature is probably the little plastic clip that goes under the pump. I don’t know if they intended for you to keep it, but I store it in my travel case and reapply it when I travel. It is awesome for preventing messes in your suitcase!

The cleansing oil smells so pretty and clean! It’s a pretty mild scent, but it’s really pleasant and. I LOVE removing my makeup at night with this.

Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Triethylhexanoin, Polyglyceryl-10 Dioleate, Hydrogenated (C6-14 Olefin) Polymers, PEG-8 Glyceryl Isosterate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate, Pentaerythrityl Tetraethylhexanoate, Cyclopentasiloxane, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Cyclohexasiloxane, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract, Citrus Unshiu (Mandarin) Peel Extract, Orchid Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Camellia Japonica Leaf Extract, Opuntia Coccinellifera (Prickly Pear) Fruit Extract, Butylene Glycol, Fragrance

So, all of the good ingredients are towards the bottom of the list. It’s not quite ideal, but the formula is free of parabens, artificial colors, and ethanol.

Here are some of the highlight ingredients:

Apple: Clarifying with Vitamin C, rich in anti-oxidants to help preserve and improve skin elasticity (hello anti-aging!), moisturizing (again, anti-aging), whitening/complexion improvement

Orchid: Moisturizes, improves skin immunity, reduces fine lines, soothes sensitive skin

Mandarin: Whitening from Vitamin C, antiseptic properties (good for those with acne), purifies skin, helps maintain moisture balance in skin, helps diminish appearance of scars

Prickly Pear: Treats inflammation

I am definitely satisfied with just that!

  • Removes makeup
  • Brightens skin
  • Deeply cleanses without tightening of the skin
  • Improves skin texture

With those ingredients, how could it not?

Just a heads up, I used a really bright light so you could really see how this product works.

So I used all of my long wear products just to test the cleanser. Yes, I’m even wearing real foundation. Le gasp!

I’ve got a lip stain, waterproof eyeliner, and water proof mascara as well.

Here’s what it looks like in some less crazy light.

I use about 2 pumps to remove my makeup from my face and neck.

It’s really not that much, just enough to make sure all of the makeup and SPF is removed.

All you have to do is apply it to your dry face and gently rub away! The makeup is extremely easy to remove and it doesn’t take a lot of effort to remove the mascara.

When all of the makeup has been loosened, rinse with warm water. The oil turns a bit milky and comes off really well. Just pat your face with a clean towel, and there ya go!

This is how my skin looked after just the cleansing oil!

I could continue with the rest of my skincare here, but I’ve found that my skin gets better results when I follow the double cleansing routine. This way it removes any residue left over from the cleansing oil and preps my skin for the other products.

This is how it looks after I’ve applied the rest of my skincare. I’m still a little pink after all of the face touching, but I’ve noticed that my skin doesn’t get red any more. My skin used to turn pretty red and sensitive even after just washing my face.

Overall I’ve really experienced the brightening and my complexion has looked a lot more even. I don’t have the problems with acne that I used to and I think that has a lot to do with how well it removes the makeup and SPF which can clog pores and is hard to thoroughly remove. I know for sure that my skin feel softer and my pores have definitely improved while I used this.

Will I repurchase this? Heck yes! I can’t say that I will use this forever because…well, there’s always something new to try, right? But I will say that I will be using this cleansing oil for a very long time!

Have any of you tried this before?

Sample Wednesday: Lioele Pore Clean and Tightening Dr. Ampoule

Um…you’ll have to excuse me a moment while I gush over how amazing this is.

*Parties in the corner.* (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧

I don’t think I’ve liked a sample so far as much as this one. I really didn’t think it was going to be anything special, but boy, was I wrong!

Mostly I was skeptical because, like loads of other products, it claims to shrink your pores. Pores cannot actually shrink. Once they are stretched out by dirt, sebum (oil), or even some makeup products, that’s it.

You CAN however clean out the pores, thus minimizing their appearance. The best products are antibacterial since they can penetrate deep into the pore and fight the source: bacterial growth caused by build up.

Here are the official claims taken directly from the website:

“Lioele Pore Clean and Tightening Dr. Ampoule is a highly concentrated formula designed to clean and shrink your pores. Also, helps control sebum production. Contains aloe that helps to moisturize your skin.”

Water, Glycerin, Alcohol Denat.,1,2-Hexanediol, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Diethoxyethyl Succinate, Butylene Glycol, Enanita Chlorantha Bark Extract, Oleanolic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Polysorbate 20, Zinc PCA, Carbomer, Hydrolyzed Soy Flour, Hamamelis Virginiana (Wtich Hazel) Water, Epilobium Angustifolium Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract, Althaea Rosea Flower Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Snail Secretion Filrate, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavander) Extract, Monarda Didyma Leaf Extract, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Leaf Extract, Freesia Alba Flower Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Palmoitoyl Oligopeptide, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-3, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Fruit Extract Foeniculum Vulgare (Fennel) Fruit Extract, Petroselinum Sativum (Parsley) Extract, Potassium Alum, Arginine, Cirtus Aurantium Bergamia [Bergamot] Fruit Oil, Cupressus Sempervirens Leaf/Nut/Stem Oil, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Oil, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Fruit Oil, Lavandula Hybirda Oil, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil

Yeah…that’s a lot!

With the exception of some of the first ingredients that I’m a little iffy about, the ingredients are pretty solid for the claims.

Witch hazel has anti-bacterial properties as well as lemon and a few others.

105_3677Despite the way it looked when I first squeezed some of the product out, it’s actually quite thick. If I had to, I would describe it as a watery gel.

See? It doesn’t even run at all!

The strongest smells are peppermint and witch hazel. That didn’t bother me at all and I don’t think it’s strong enough to bother you if you are sensitive to scents.

These photos are completely, 100% unedited. I just wanted to make sure you knew ;).

Now I know there isn’t a massive difference, but look at the side of my nose. Even after just five minutes, you can definitely see a difference. I could really feel it working too! The sensation wasn’t unpleasant and didn’t make my skin feel stretched, but I could tell it was doing something. It was almost like a faint cooling and tingling sensation. I blame the peppermint and tea tree oils. 😉

Will I purchase the full size?

Heck yeah!

But I think I will wait until next summer. My skin get’s really dry in the winter and some of these ingredients can be a bit unkind to dry skin. If that is your skin type, I probably wouldn’t purchase this.

Have any of you tried this ampoule?

Sample Wednesday! The Face Shop Baby Face Hydrogel Hyaluronic Acid

Good evening wonderful people!

Ok, so I have been ridiculously busy lately and my skin is taking the hit. I look like I haven’t slept in 6 years!

So right now, I’m working on pampering my skin and actually sleeping more than 4 hours a night ;). These dark circles are no joke!

You can’t really tell on camera, but my skin is soo~~~ dry! Look how dull! It felt really stretched so I figured now would be the best time to try this mask that I got from my best friend who I love very much ❤ ❤ <3.

105_3603Teehee I forgot to take a picture of the package before I used it ^_^.

There is nothing special about the shape of the mask itself, but what really impressed me about this particular mask was the amount of product.

This isn’t even all that was left in the package after I applied the mask!

I put some on my face and neck after I waited the 20 minutes.

Tada~~~ see how nice and moisturized it looks now? I would definitely recommend this for anyone who needs a good moisture boost.

Now I just have to work on the random stress breakouts ;).

June and July Empties

Good morning lovely people!

I didn’t finish loads of products in June, so I combined it with July. Except it still isn’t a whole heck of a lot. Oh well ;).

Picadilo Collage

Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask

Of all the masks that I have ever tried, this one is absolutely my favorite! I use this every time that I get a really bad breakout I use this at night after cleansing and toning. The next day, the breakouts have reduced in size and redness :D.

Equate Deep Cleaning Astringent for Sensitive Skin

I seriously don’t know why I even bought this nonsense. Especially when I know how easily I get chemical burns with salicylic acid! Oh my goodness, I can’t even describe how much this irritated my skin. I used it all of two times and then gave it to my sister whose skin can handle a bit more of the treatment.

Skinfood Black Raspberry Su Water Serum

There are two different serums in this line (Nutrient and Water) and this one is perfect for normal to oily skin in the summer. It’s very light and absorbs very quickly.

If your skin is dry, this will definitely not be enough moisturizer for you.

Naruko Tea Tree Oil Out Balancing Serum

If I had a holy grail product for acne treatment, this would be it. I actually ran out of this in June and I almost cried! I rarely ever had a breakout when I was using this and my complexion was amazing! It is rather hard to find this product from a reliable seller online since this product comes from Taiwan.

Boscia Luminizing Black Mask

This is another mask that I’m absolutely in love with! It really does brighten your complexion and add life to your face. The only reason I haven’t repurchased it is because of the price. I will probably buy it again when I can’t resist the temptation ;).

Dabur Amla Oil

Ok, this is a product from India that I have heard so many good things about! I used it as a weekly treatment on myself and my sisters.

Unfortunately, I don’t think this is the right product for our crazy Multi-Racial hair. It did add a lot of shine though?

Twisted Sista 30 Second Curl Spray

I don’t this product, but it definitely helped me keep my curls in shape throughout the day. UNLESS the humidity was extremely high. Then there is no saving my hair! That’s what happens when you decide that your naturally black curly hair needs to be platinum blonde ;).

Well, that’s everything for these last couple of months! I liked a lot more than I didn’t, so I would say it has been a success ^_^.

Have you tried any of these products?

Favorite Summer Moisturizer and Why I Shouldn’t be Allowed to Have a Camera ;)

Good evening my Pretties!

Haha I’m in such a weird mood today! I feel like I’ve had 8 shots of espresso and way too much sugar. (~ ̄▽ ̄)~

Moving right along…

Favorite Summer Moisturizer Cover

This is not a review, per se. I just wanted to share this awesome, awesome moisturizer with all of you today!

If you saw the Korean products haul I did a good while ago, I very briefly mentioned this one. Just like the Tony Moly bb cream I just reviewed, this one is a mouthful : Acence Blemish Control Soothing Gel Cream by Mizon.

Luckily, the product is as effective as the name is long ;). And this is PERFECT for Oily skin types! Or for those whose combination skin gets a bit more combination in the Summer, if you know what I mean.

I never had breakouts for very long during the 4 months that I’ve been using this moisturizer.

Oh my gosh, I didn’t realize how long I’ve been using this! And I’m not even out yet!

Any acne that did pop up was there for a maximum of 3 days! So there ya go!

This is definitely more like a gel than a cream, but it absolutely melts into your skin and leaves a really nice finish that also forms a really good base for your makeup.

I do have to say that this is NOT for those with sensitive skin! It does sting a bit on any blemishes, but it doesn’t bother me at all.

To me it just feels really cool and fresh <3.

I should probably blame the awesomeness of this product on this next bit. I got a bit too excited about the lighting when I was taking these pictures, so enjoy the very dramatic Sun poses ;).

I couldn’t be bothered with makeup today, so I only have a veeery~~~ light coating of bb cream on my trouble spots. The finish on my skin is all this baby!

That justifies the pictures, right?

Sample Wednesday! Skinfood Egg White Pore Foam

Good morning Lovelies!

I can’t believe this is the first time I’m talking about a Skinfood product considering they are one of my favorite brands EVER! 😉

I had a few of these samples and once again, I’m struggling with clogged pores. Thank you, Summer!

How far away is Fall? Because I can’t wait <3.

Moving right along….

There was enough product in this product to use 3-4 times! I couldn’t believe how much use I got out of this ikkle sample.

“A pore-refining cleanser with egg white extract that deep-cleanses pores with white foam”

That’s by far the most simple claim statement I’ve ever seen from any company!

“Egg white, enriched with alumin, promotes firmer skin and smaller pores”

I can’t find anything online about alumin, so I’m assuming it’s a translation error?

I have not a clue.

Let me just say, this cleanser is so thick! Even on my fingers it felt like a heavy cream.

And as you can see it didn’t foam as much as you would expect.

These are close ups of my pore-trouble areas.

105_3152 - Copy

And this is what it looks like after.

The cleanser is very drying!

When you first spread it on your face, it feels so thick that you don’t feel like it’s working. After drying your face, you feel the results.

Unfortunately, the drying was a little too harsh for me and my normal skin. I had to use a heavier night cream to bring the moisture back. This would probably work a lot better for people who have oily skin.

As far as deep cleansing, the excess sebum and such was cleansed for my face, but I wasn’t all that impressed. My face didn’t feel clean, just dry.

First Impression Score:

This product would be very nice for people with acne prone or oily skin!

But, that is not this skin. Le sigh!

I do have breakouts, but they are due to hormones so harsh products just irritate my skin. So! For all you lovely people with oily skin looking for a cleanser….

Here ya go! 😉

Sample Wednesday! Skin Watchers Cooling Pore Mask

Why, hello there beautiful people!

This is going to be the first post of a new series I will be doing until I run out. I have waaay too many samples, so why not? 😉

This summer has already been pretty hard on my skin. And with this heat and humidity, my pores are crying. By which I mean collecting all sorts of secretions that I would much rather not be trapped in my pores. That pretty much adds up to me spending the majority of my summer trying to find other masks that I like.

Which is why I was excited when I saw this mask included with one of my purchases from Jolse!

The sample was a pretty good size and I got just enough to cover my face plus a little bit extra for later spot treatments and such.

105_3065 105_3068

  • Natural cooling properties in peppermint removes sebum
  • Vitamin-E of Apricot oil cleans your pores and soothes your skin
  • Kaolin clay makes your skin soft and matte by absorbing black and white heads
  • Natural oils keep your skin moisturized after washing the face

Also, Skin Watcher’s claims to be 20 free!!! This includes parabens, dimethicone, mineral oils, and sulfates. You can see the full list here!

This is one of the awesome things that has definitely drawn my attention to this brand!

You can see that my skin is slightly oily and looks a little rough around my nose.

There was only 4ml in the sample packet and it covered my face so well! It was really easy to spread and there was a good bit still in the package.

This is 20 minutes after I applied the mask.

I love that this mask doesn’t dry up and crack like other clay masks! The product is really comfortable on and the cooling affect is really soothing after a long day. 🙂

And this is after!

It really did remove all of my excess sebum and look how smooth the skin looks around my nose!

My skin felt so smooth and plump too. And this was only the first time I’ve used it! I can’t imagine how awesome this would make my skin if I used it regularly.

Here is a side by side so you can see the results better:

Ok, I am definitely going to buy this! ^_^

I cannot believe that I got such good results on just my first use! I had a few signs of a breakout coming and no pimples ever came up! They just disappeared by the next morning!

Look at this healthy looking skin!

105_3090Yes, I really do my hair up like this at night. Welcome to the life of curly hair haha ;).

Secret Key Snail+EGF Repairing Essence Review

Hello beauties!

Have you heard of using snail excretions in skincare?

The name of this product shouldn’t freak you out if you’ve been following skincare trends in Korea. Snail secretions have become extremely popular lately and the hype doesn’t look like it will be slowing down any time soon.

However, if you’re like me, putting snail sludge on your face hardly sounds appealing.

That’s part of the reason I took so long to try any of the snail products out there. But the more positive reviews I read, the more I became intrigued. So, I decided to check out the essence from Secret Key, mainly because of the ingredients.

Snail Slime Extract , Tremella Fuciformis Extract , Rice Extract, Caviar , Human Oligo peptide, Macadamia Seed Oil

That’s it! How awesome is that? I love more natural products! It makes me feel a lot better about what I’m putting onto my skin. And snail slime extract is the first ingredient, so you know there is a high concentration of secretion instead of a bunch of filler.

Alright, this is definitely not my favorite packaging out there. That just proves I’m not always hypnotized by cute packaging ;). Aren’t you proud?

20140321_020534 20140321_020602

But really, brown isn’t exactly one of my favorite colors and I find the design is a bit blah. Beyond the superficial, the bottle is plastic. It isn’t a huge deal, but I prefer glass packaging because it ensures that the product is more stable. The logo is cute though!

The pump is really nice too :). There are a lot of snail creams and such out there that have a jar container. I definitely appreciate the hygiene of pump a lot more.

Ok, I’m not going to lie, this product is a tad bit weird. But just a little bit, I promise!

Seeing that the main ingredient is snail excretion, it is thicker than a lot of essences on the market.

See? It doesn’t even slide when I held my hand up and sideways.

And as you would expect, it is a tad sticky.

The good thing is that all of the stickiness fades when you rub it in for a few seconds. This makes it easy to use in the morning before your moisturizer and doesn’t affect your makeup application.

Completely absorbed and only after a few seconds.

Claims and Effectiveness:

  • Eases skin trouble with snail secretion extract and rhEGF (encourages formation of new skin cells)
  • Healthy and tightened skin and snail secretion helps with skin renewal
  • Moisture and skin protection
  • Skin soothing effect and brightening with numerous natural ingredients

I have mainly been using this in hopes that it would help fade my acne scars and treat the fine lines under my eyes. I actually have seen an improvement in my scars! They are much less visible, but there hasn’t been much improvement with my fine lines. Technically, they don’t claim to do anything for fine lines, but I hoped the tightening feature would help.

When I use this essence and the Etude House Wonder Pore Freshner both in my routine, my pores around my nose are definitely getting better. It’s really good for the Summer too because it’s moisturizing without being heavy on my skin. It does really well with calming the redness in my face as well. I can’t say anything about the brightening though. I haven’t seen any significant progress with that.

I really do like this product, but I just don’t love it. The texture and packaging don’t bother me so much, but I just don’t feel like I get enough results to justify a 5/5.

Will I repurchase? Hmmm I think I might try some other brands after this to see if I can find something better.

If you’re interested, you can buy this at Jolse. The price is really good.

Have you jumped on the snail train? Or does it just creep you out too much?

Etude House Wonder Pore Freshner Full Review

Ok. Wow. Just, wow! I love this toner so much! And I definitely waited long enough to see results 。◕ ‿ ◕。

  • Deep cleanse pores
  • Maintain pH
  • Control a large amount of sebum
  • Minimizes appearance of pores
  • Refine skin tone
  • Keeps elasticity of pores
  • Moisturizes the inside and the outside of the skin

Let me tell you, they are not lying!

I had never had trouble with my pores until the last six or so months. For some bizarre reason, my skin decided I needed the taste of puberty that I never experienced in my teenagers. I maybe had 5 pimples while I was growing up. No joke. But now I have trouble with hormonal acne and the pores around my nose and on my cheeks are starting to enlarge.

This toner has definitely started to turn my skin around. I use it after I cleanse my skin in the morning and it makes a huge difference in my makeup application. My bb cream and concealer goes on more smoothly and last longer. The best part for me is that I only have to use my blotting sheets once a day. If that. Humidity is terrible~~~ where I live, so this product has definitely made it to my favorite list.

Like I said before, I wish that I had bought the larger size. The pump would have given the product control that this pretty standard dispenser did not.

That being said, the design of the bottle and label is adorable! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧

I mean, look at these awesome illustrations on the box!

20140515_174637 20140515_174707

Everything is so cute and fresh. If I didn’t already want this toner, I probably would have been an absolute sucker for the packaging and bought it anyway ;).

Luckily for me, this doesn’t have a very strong scent at all seeing as medicinal or strong scents scare me off. The chemical burns I’ve gotten from other products was no joke.

It actually smells like ginger?

I don’t know. I kind of like it ^_^.

I’ve been using this for about a month now and I have seen a wonderful decrease in my pore size. It even helps with the redness and blemishes.

It doesn’t remove makeup residue after cleansing. So if that’s a big deal for you, using it in the morning would be better. But this also means that it doesn’t strip your skin either. Score for those with sensitive or dry skin!

5 Rating

Surprise, surprise I will definitely be repurchasing this! It will be a long~ time before I will though. After a month, I’ve barely used an eighth of it! It’s not even down to the top of the label. I do appreciate that since this is at the higher end of price that I usually pay for skincare items at $18.

At least I know it’s long lasting!

Excitement level – ridiculous 😉

You can buy this at Jolse in both the larger and the smaller sizes.

Etude House AC Clinic Daily Toner Review

I’m finally getting around to reviewing this toner! I’ve been using this for about a month now and I feel I’ve got a pretty good handle on it.

Actually, it’s probably better that I waited this long considering that it takes 28 days for your skin to completely turn over and see how the product has worked.

So, let’s get on with the review, shall we?

The design is very medical. I wouldn’t say it’s cute, but I like it.

The bottle is glass and that comes with it’s own problems and benefits.

The dark green glass will keep the product from spoiling or breaking down chemically. I can appreciate that. And it’s also more sturdy. That and the size make it good to travel with.

The problem comes with how it’s dispensed.

I know this is pretty typical for most toners, but it’s hard to control how much product comes out. And I’m not sure how great it’s going to be trying to get the last little bits out of the bottle.

That is really my only complaint about this whole product.

I’m not going to lie. The smell matches the theme of the packaging; medical and a bit strong. I don’t have super sensitive skin, but I have experienced chemical burns from acne fighting products from the US. The smell scared me a little bit.

Luckily, I have had no trouble with this product! It doesn’t  dry out my skin and there hasn’t even been any kind of itching.

It does do a great job at bringing down the irritation in a pimple and any time I’ve had a breakout, it’s gone in a matter of a couple of days! As far as preventing pimples….well the number of breakouts has gone down, but I still have acne here and there. I can’t blame the product too much because I have hormonal acne.

4-5 flowers

Don’t get me wrong, I really like this toner. It’s just not a holy grail for me. It does reduce the acne, but I wish it worked a little faster and was a little better at preventing blemishes.

Where to buy:

I got mine from Jolse! They are quickly becoming my favorite seller for Korean cosmetics ^_^.

Have you used this toner? How did it work for you?
