And speaking of shopping, all I orininally went online to buy was lipstick! My friend was loking for a specific color and it just so happened that I found it at Belk.

I bought two tubes of the Estee Lauder All-Day Lipstick in Frosted Apricot. It’s a gorgeous color, but not quite as moisturizing as I would like. I did have to apply a smidge of chapstick underneath to keep my lips from drying.

 

It does have great staying power though! I don’t know if I’m going to pay $20 for this again. Call me cheap, but that just seems like too much to me.

Ok, so let’s move onto the gifts. The bag in the first picture does come with the gift and it’s pretty nice.

Perfectly Clean Multi-Action Foam Cleanser/Purifying Mask 

This is the first time hearing about a product that can be used as a cleanser and a mask. Right away that make me a little worried that it might be too strong even though it is labeled to be suitable for normal/combination skin.

It does foam up really nicely and cleans your face really well with minimal makeup. However my skin is dry/combination, so using this as a mask would definitely be a little strong. No chemical burns, just a bit of dry discomfort.

This would definitely be good for those with combination/oily skin.

Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II Serum

No isn’t that a mouthful?

Now, I don’t have wrinkles and one night isn’t enough to tell a difference in the way my skin looks, but can say that this feels amazing! It is an almost runny liquid and spreads very easily on your face. You can immediately feel the moisture and it feels very refreshing.

Sumptuous Bold Volume Lifting Mascara in Black

 

Now, as far as mascara is concerned, I have a favorite and I haven’t tried another mascara in at least 2 years. But I tried it anyway. And I’m doing my eyebrows tonight. Enjoy their raw state. This is how much I love you. 😉

 

 

 

 

The length is really nice! However, I don’t see any change in the volume. It’s good, but not on my purchase list.

Also, I found this wand to be obnoxiously large and awkward to use. It is as big as my eye itself!

Pure Color Long Lasting Lipstick in Pinkberry

 

When I saw this color in the tube, I honestly felt a little jipped. I don’t wear a lot of neutral lip colors. Bright colors are much more entertaining! (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧

BUUUT~~~ When I actually applied it, it’s really quite pretty!

 

I really think this shade is going to be perfect for Fall!

Modern Muse Eau de Parfum Spray

 

There are two little sample spray bottles in here which is really nice if you like the scent!

It is rather strong, but it normalized after a few minutes. The scent is really light and pretty with slight floral notes? I couldn’t really distinguish anything in particular.

Another mouthful!

 

Ok, of all the other gifts, this is the one that I would purchase. Oh my goodness, this makes my skin feel amazing! I don’t have any other way to describe it other than how your body feels after drinking water on a hot day is the way your skin feels after application. It’s like all of your skin relaxes.

The only downside is that it costs $42 for 1 oz! I think I’ll stick with the anti-aging products I just received from Korea after I finish this up. I don’t want my skin to get used to the more hard core ingredients too early ;).

I haven’t used any Estée Lauder outside of their Double Wear Foundation which was amazing! It was gifted to me and I just never repurchased. If I ever get into the habit of wearing full makeup on a daily basis, I will. After all of this, I might have to pay more attention to this brand. Their products really are wonderful!

Confidently Orange – Memebox Look

Hello again dearies!

I finally got around to trying everything from the Orange #2 Colorbox from MEMEBOX. And good grief, am I glad I did!

I love every single one of these products and I will definitely be checking out these brands in the future. (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧

When I was looking at the products, I couldn’t actually decide how I wanted to test everything out, so I just created one look that used all of the cosmetic products at once.

Luckily for me, it didn’t turn out looking crazy ;).

I think it helps that there were a lot of different shades of orange.

Eyes:

 

This looks more subtle on camera, but the color of this eyeliner is so vibrant! It really made my eyes pop, I think.

Lips:

 

Ok, I really can’t say how much I love this lipstick!

Dearberry is a relatively new brand on the Korean market, but I will definitely be trying more of their products.

The application above is after just one swipe per lip! It’s so creamy and moisturizing even though the color is pretty matte.

Cheeks:

I know this L’ Ocean product is an eye shadow, but I wanted to showcase the eyeliner too, so I used this as a blush.

And doesn’t it look pretty?

I had to use a reaaaally light hand when applying it though because the eye shadow is super pigmented.

Overall:

I really couldn’t be more pleased with this MEMEBOX! I got so many comments on my eyeliner and lipstick today while I did some errands.

This is definitely a good look for a day when you just need some color :).

Makeup of the Day: Southern Belle

I’m sure all of you Lovelies are getting tired of my skincare and makeup-less face, so how about a little makeup? ;).

Well, I am going to sneak a little mini review in here. Let’s start with my – should be familiar by now – bare face!

Cute, right?

I have no idea why I look so dark in that one because I didn’t touch up the pictures or alter the lighting. My camera does that on occasion because it’s a little princess.

To prime my face, which I don’t usually use, I decided to try the Lioele Secret Pore Rich Balm sample that has been sitting at the bottom of my sample drawer.

 

I expected some sort of gel or something. I guess my reading abilities are a tad bit special. 😉

This balm is quite thick like a paste, but luckily a lot goes a long way. It reminds me a bit of coconut oil without as much melting.

Side note: See my likkle Rilakkuma mouse pad in the background? One of my favorite items ever! ❤

This is what my face looked like after the balm.

Right away you can tell the difference!

My skin looks smoother and a bit matte. I normally don’t like that so much in a base product, but since I’m wearing a bit more makeup today, I’ll live ;).

My BB cream also applied really well.

I think I will use this primer until I run out and then buy the full size!

As for my eyes, I went more neutral on my eye shadow because I just had~~~ to have my bright lips.

Senior Year Photo Shoot Makeup

My younger sister is going to be a senior in high school! I cannot say how weird that makes me feel. She’s still a tiny, adorable 10 year old who liked to watch “Fated to Love You” and “You’re Beautiful” with me!

Alas, she is getting older without my permission! *sniff sniff*

And she’s grown up to be quite beautiful! A local photographer spotted her and asked her to model for their company. I’m so proud that everyone can see the woman she is becoming.

The company doesn’t have a makeup artist on staff at the moment, so I did it for her. I mostly used my sister’s makeup so this will be a high end look with drugstore makeup ;). I will list the products at the end of this post.

When she was thinking about her styling, she decided that she really wanted dramatic eye makeup. Karis thought it would make her look more like a model. I don’t think she needed my makeup to look like a model, but I think it turned out great!

CL 2ne1 “Gotta be You” Inspired Makeup

I think I’ve forgotten how much fun it is to wear full makeup! I work in a church, so I mostly wear a more natural look. But tonight I decided I was going to have some fun ^_^.

If you haven’t seen the newest 2ne1 music video, “Gotta be You,” you should watch it now! It’s not one of their most upbeat songs, but I love it.

As usual, the styling is amazingly on point and the girls look absolutely gorgeous! I really liked Minzy and CL’s makeup especially.

 

Even though their makeup looks are really similar, I liked CL’s just that little bit more ;).

 

I wish I still had my blonde hair for this cover look, but my Senegalese twists look cool with this, I think.

 

So, this was definitely a lot of fun! I love a good winged eyeliner and it made me feel super fierce ;).

And speaking of eyeliner, CL and I have just a little bit of a difference in eye shape. If I tried to make it look exact, the eyeliner would be super~~~ thick because of my deep eye creases.

It’s always important to keep in mind your own face shape and features when trying a new/different look.

MOTD: Burgundy in Spring

Alright, so I know that I’m supposed to be abandoning all of my beautiful Fall and Winter shades for pastels, but it’s freezing today. It looks and feels like it’s still December…in the deep South…in April. Ah well, who’s counting anyway?

I needed a bit of a pick me up in the office and I happened to grab this baby on my way out of the door this morning.

Maybelline is one of my favorite drug store brands and this was one of my go to lip colors for the colder seasons. The lipstick is a matte finish and has great staying power. After 4 hours and lunch, my lips still look just as vibrant as when I applied it.

This is what it looks like freshly applied.

And this was four hours later.

It does settle a bit into the lines of your lips, but that doesn’t bother me too much.

Because I work in a church, I don’t get to wear a lot of elaborate makeup. It gave me just the touch of color and sass I needed to get through the rest of my day ;).

 

 

Korean Cosmetics and Skincare Haul

Weee! I just got a decent sized haul from Jolse Cosmetics, RoseRoseShop (an expanded ebay store), and one of my best friends ^_^.

 

The only thing I got from RoseRoseShop was the Mizon Acence Blemish Control Soothing Gel Cream. The packaging is pretty simple, but I like the clean look.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Most of the products came from Jolse. I really like this website! They have really good prices and the shipping isn’t very bad at all. It is just a flat rate of $2.50. They usually have some pretty good sales and while they don’t have everything I want, the prices are worth it.

 I’m mostly excited about this Mineral Melting BB Cushion from Innisfree. I’ve tried one other cushion and I want to try some more.

 

Yep, it’s starting to be that time of year where I live. It gets super humid starting in the Spring, so I’m being proactive with the Etude House Oil Control blotting sheets. This will be my first time using these, so I hope they work well on my skin.

 

 

 

 

I got the Color My Brows from Etude House in the shade #4 Natural Brown because my black eyebrows look a bit harsh on my face. I just wanted to lighten them a bit without using bleach. Boy, did that burn like heck! I used to bleach my brows when I was blonde. Just another advantage to going back to my natural hair color ^_^.

I’m trying to make the move to more natural deodorant. All of the statistics with aluminum in deodorant have freaked me out. This isn’t going to be the first one I’ve tried, but it has to be better than the very strange yellow stuff I bought from Etsy -___-.

My favorite part about Jolse is that they send the ~~~mother load of samples~~~.

 

I haven’t tried a lot of these products and if I like the samples, I will definitely check some of them out in the future. I’m a serious sucker for good skincare/makeup products.

My friends are definitely aware of my addictions! I made a trip to visit some of my friends and came back with these lovely babies!

I have issues with blackheads. They aren’t that bad, but I see them so they must be fixed!

I can’t wait to try these masks! No addictions to masks here. Nope! Not me!

I’ll definitely be doing some reviews on some of these. Much excite! I’m very excited to try these. Maybe I’ll find something I can be loyal to…or not ^_^.
