The Mini Haul Before I Break the Bank

Hallo Lovelies!

It’s Christmas here in my neck of the woods, at least as far as I’m concerned. I always feel that child-like rush of excitement every time I get a package in the mail! 😀

This lot came in before my huge package of skincare that is on the way. My skincare routine needs some serious updating for winter since my skin makes a complete 180 and decides to be dry all season long.

 

It’s a bit random, but this haul was one of those “Meh, I want to buy something….Oh look, a thing!” kind of shopping excursions.

I’m not going to talk about the snail cream too much because it’s going to be mentioned in a later post, but it’s the MYPU Halyu Water Volume Snail White Cream.

 

The Holika Holika Jewel Light Under Eye Maker in Pink was a seriously random purchase. I’ve never needed to create aegyo sal, so I’ve never really tried this out.

Yeah, just look at those babies!

The funny thing is that I don’t even have any eye make up on, so that is their natural state!

Having said all that, I’m just a little curious how this product will look on my face.

 

As for the Lioele Glittering Jewel Eyeliner? I’m always up for trying new eyeliners. Hopefully this one will turn out to be pretty. I need a super black eyeliner that won’t fade an hour after application.

Isn’t the little wrapping sticker adorable on the Tony Moly Kiss Lover Lip Tint?

Also, the name of this product makes me giggle a little bit. ^_^

Basically, I was just looking for a good lip tint for fall and the Holic Plum shade sounded perfect.

And last, but definitely not least, is the Innisfree Ampoule Intense Cushion in 23!!!

Oh my goodness, I am the most excited about this and you can expect a review on this in the next couple of days for sure!

Innisfree has three cushion bb creams now and each one is designed for a particular season. The ampoule cushion is made to keep your face nice and moist during the harsh winter and has less SPF than the other cushions.

Holika Holika Wonder Drawing 24hr Auto Eyebrow Pencil Review

 

 

Hello everyone ^_^~~~

I’ve been holding onto this for a while, but I’ve been using this eyebrow pencil for about a month. This is the first time that I’ve used a color this dark and I don’t think I’ll be going back.

At least, not any lighter than a dark brown.

This is the second product that I’ve used from Holika Holika and I think I’m going to have to do some more exploring!

I got this in #1 Grey Black, but there are 3 other colors available.

 

Packaging:

Unlike their blusher, which you can see in the background, this packaging is super sleek and simple.

I don’t dislike it, but what can I say? I’m a Taurus.

Cute packaging is always welcome! 😀

 

The end has a spoolie!

That is one of the main reasons I decided to try this one instead of the plethora of other eyebrow pencils on the market.

 

This is how it looks when you first get it, but since the product is really soft, it ends up being more rounded.

Consistency:

Like I said, the gel is SUPER soft and you don’t have to press very hard to make it show up. In fact, I’ve found that I need to apply this with a feather light touch.

Lasting Power:

Oh my goodness! Holika Holika advertises this as an all day, no smudge product and let me tell you, they aren’t lying!

Even when the rest of my makeup fades, my eyebrows are always strong.

Though, that may not be a good thing ;).

 

Application:

Ok, see why I need to fill in my eyebrows?!

My eyebrows fell victim to my teenage years and I’m still trying to grow them out.

 

Tada!

 

I really love this pencil! It is so easy to use for someone like me who is still a newbie when it comes to filling in my own eyebrows.

 

This is how I apply it. Since I have to fill in the super sparce inner area, I draw a few short upward strokes to make sure it doesn’t look too fake.

For the rest of my eyebrow I use short, light strokes just to fill in the empty areas. The only long line I apply is underneath to reinforce the shape.

 

 

What a difference eyebrows make! Even with simple makeup like this, I feel like having fuller eyebrows just balances my face.

 

Aaaand you can see all my freckles in this lighting!

But my eyebrows look good ;).

Look of the Day: Accidental Bellatrix Edition

The struggle is real for my curls today. The humidity is killer and between that and the fact that my curl pattern is still wrestling for life after the braids…. Well, you can see the results. Luckily the big, curly hair is in? Sort of? ╮(─▽─)╭

 

It took me a few hours to get used to not having 12 lbs of hair on my head, but I kind of miss actually having long hair. Ah well, another week and I’ll have them back!

As for my makeup, I chose a more natural look with a bright pink lip. I actually used a face powder today to make sure I had the flawless skin look to support the bright lip color. I usually prefer a more dewy/fresh finish, but I do pull out the powder every now and then depending on the look I’m going for.

See? I can do bright Spring/Summer colors. (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧

Quite a few products for a simple look, right? At least I didn’t really contour. The Milani Face Powder was a bit too dark for me and somehow managed to be a bit too yellow. That is a first for me. I will keep it and see if I get any darker this Summer.

I say that, but I will probably just end up giving it to my little sister who enjoys the sun a whole heck of a lot more than I do.

This will probably be one of my statement looks for Summer since I tend to be more elaborate with my makeup in the Fall/Winter.

CL 2ne1 “Gotta be You” Inspired Makeup

I think I’ve forgotten how much fun it is to wear full makeup! I work in a church, so I mostly wear a more natural look. But tonight I decided I was going to have some fun ^_^.

If you haven’t seen the newest 2ne1 music video, “Gotta be You,” you should watch it now! It’s not one of their most upbeat songs, but I love it.

As usual, the styling is amazingly on point and the girls look absolutely gorgeous! I really liked Minzy and CL’s makeup especially.

 

Even though their makeup looks are really similar, I liked CL’s just that little bit more ;).

 

I wish I still had my blonde hair for this cover look, but my Senegalese twists look cool with this, I think.

 

So, this was definitely a lot of fun! I love a good winged eyeliner and it made me feel super fierce ;).

And speaking of eyeliner, CL and I have just a little bit of a difference in eye shape. If I tried to make it look exact, the eyeliner would be super~~~ thick because of my deep eye creases.

It’s always important to keep in mind your own face shape and features when trying a new/different look.
